From 21 to 25 September, the international conference "Plaksin Readings – 2026" is taking place in Khabarovsk. Its programme includes the work of ZVEZDA specialists dedicated to the use of mobile drilling rigs in complex mining and geological conditions.

About the report

Nadezhda Filippova, Alexander Blokhin and Alexander Bur are presenting the report "Using the results of advance drilling from mobile all-terrain vehicle rigs to predict the technological properties of ore when planning processing."

The study is dedicated to geological and technological mapping: data obtained during advance drilling allow for a more accurate assessment of ore properties, planning its processing, and maintaining stable ore flow quality.

Drilling rig on ZVEZDA chassis

The URB-2D3 rig on a ZVEZDA HX4-41 all-terrain vehicle chassis with a 8×8 wheel arrangement is considered as a mobile platform. Low-pressure tyres and high cross-country capability give the rig access to areas with low soil bearing capacity, complex terrain, and waterlogged zones, where the use of traditional heavy drilling machines is limited.

Such a rig combines transport mobility, drilling, and operational data collection. This helps to conduct exploration faster, refine the geological model of the site, and make decisions when planning mining operations.

The report is included in the conference section dedicated to technological mineralogy, ore preparation, and processing of mineral raw materials.
