In addition to the postage block, first day covers have been issued and special cancellation stamps for Moscow and Norilsk have been produced, as well as a souvenir set in an artistic cover. Inside – the postage block, a vignette and a first day cover with cancellation for Norilsk.

The postage block depicts a landscape of the Putorana Nature Reserve with typical flora and fauna and a representative of an endemic species – the Putorana snow sheep. The central place in the composition is occupied by the Bolshoy Irkindinsky Waterfall – a powerful 27-metre waterfall on the Irkinda River, located 120 km from Norilsk. It can only be reached by helicopter.

The plateau's territory lies on the border of the taiga and tundra. In the taiga part of the plateau live brown bears, elk, wolves, deer, sables, black grouse and other animals. In the forest-tundra – ermines and wolverines, in the tundra – partridges, and in the harsh goltsov belt among the stones – pikas, high-mountain animals resembling large hamsters, but closely related to hares.

Rare and endangered bird species are found on the plateau – the yellow-billed loon, black crane, red-breasted goose, gyrfalcon, and white-tailed eagle.

The Putorana Plateau is the only place on the planet where the largest endemic species of the Yenisei North – the Putorana snow sheep – lives. This is a rare species listed in the Red Book of Russia. The migration route of the largest Eurasian Taimyr population of wild reindeer passes through the plateau's territory.
