The XVI International Exhibition “Integrated Safety and Security” is taking place in Kazan, at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre. Over 143 thousand square metres feature 84 models of new equipment and gear from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as exhibits from over 230 organisations. The Exhibition's business programme includes more than 30 events at federal, industry, scientific, and international levels.
On the first day of the Exhibition, the Head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, familiarised himself with the exhibits of leading subordinate organisations. The stands showcase modern developments and technological solutions designed for monitoring situations, preventing emergencies, conducting rescue operations, and ensuring public safety.
This year, the Exhibition's concept is united by the common theme of the four elements — “Fire, Water, Air, Earth”. All presented directions are united by one common task — protecting people and ensuring safety. The Saint Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations presented developments structured in accordance with the thematic blocks of the exhibition.
In the “Fire” direction, an innovative remote fire extinguishing complex is presented, developed for use in high-risk conditions. The technology allows for remote fire extinguishing, minimising risks for personnel.
The “Water” block includes modern diving equipment and underwater hydroacoustic devices. The integrated application of the presented developments enhances the safety of diving descents and helps reduce the search time for sunken objects. In the “Air” direction, the “SKAT-M” hexacopter-type unmanned aerial complex is presented, designed for operational aerial reconnaissance, situation monitoring, and obtaining information about emergencies.
The final block of the exhibition combines solutions developed to ensure vital activity and safety in Arctic conditions, as well as in areas with destroyed infrastructure. These include safety and communication complexes designed for operation in extreme conditions.
As part of the Exhibition's business programme, Bogdan Gavkalyuk, Head of the Saint Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, signed an agreement on the network form of implementing an educational programme in the field of “Technosphere Safety” and a cooperation agreement between the Saint Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev — KAI.
From 2026, the universities plan to implement a joint network master's programme for double degrees in the field of “Technosphere Safety”, with a specialisation in “Management in Fire Supervision and Civil Defence”.
The programme's goal is to develop a unique set of interdisciplinary competencies in graduates, combining engineering and analytical training in risk management with a deep knowledge of the regulatory framework and the specifics of control and supervisory activities.
Combining the professional experience and authority of the Saint Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations with the scientific, technological, and industrially oriented base of KNITU-KAI will create conditions for training a new generation of specialists capable of effectively solving complex problems in the field of safety and security.
Furthermore, within the framework of the Exhibition, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Saint Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and ZVEZDA Amphibious All-Terrain Vehicle Plant LLC.
Such cooperation gains particular significance in the context of implementing tasks for the development and exploration of the Arctic Zone, where the use of specialised technical means is crucial for ensuring safety, mobility, and efficiency of work in complex natural and climatic conditions.
