On 6 October, the XVII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Latest Technologies for Hydrocarbon Field Development and Ensuring the Safety of Caspian Sea Ecosystems" was held in Astrakhan. The event took place at Astrakhan State Technical University.
In the section "Geology, Geoecology and Geophysics of Hydrocarbon Fields", Alexander Blokhin, Director of the ZVEZDA Plant, presented a report on "Using the results of advance drilling from mobile all-terrain rigs to predict the filtration-capacitive properties and technological variability of reservoirs at the field development planning stage".
The use of mobile drilling rigs allows data on a field to be obtained at the stage of planning its development. These studies help to assess rock properties, their ability to contain and transmit fluids, and to account for reservoir heterogeneity when selecting technological solutions.
For the ZVEZDA plant, this is an important area of interaction between science and production. The all-terrain platform ensures the delivery of drilling equipment to research sites in conditions of a limited road network. Thanks to ZVEZDA amphibious all-terrain vehicles, areas for organising and conducting field work become accessible in various regions of the Russian Federation.
